During a recent town hall meeting in Johannesburg, South Africa, hosted by The Obama Foundation, the 44th President of the United States urged women to be more involved in politics.
“Women in particular, by the way, I want you to get more involved because men have been getting on my nerves lately,” he said. “I mean, every day I read the newspaper and I just think, ‘Brothers, what’s wrong with you guys? What’s wrong with us?’ I mean, we’re violent. We’re bullying. You know, just not handling our business,” concluded the President.
There were many really good questions posed by the young African women and men leaders centering around governance and leadership in Africa. The Obama Foundation program brings together 200 emerging leaders from across the continent to explore new ways to take on the biggest challenges in their communities.
