Sunday, July 31st, 2016, fashion enthusiasts, community members and leaders gathered at the ‘Joe238 Documentary Fashion Car Gala Show, at The Falls Center in Elk Grove, California, to celebrate the life of Joe Chairez, a twenty-four year old exceptional cop with badge number 238, who died spontaneously while on duty.
Chairez was so conscientious and caring he decided to donate his organ in the event that he should die while on duty as a cop. His donation has helped saved lives post death.
The event was produced by DMR Productions and sponsored by Sierra Donor Services, Apex BCPS, Dreams and Rivers, Above & Beyond Cakes, Chelo Estate, Harv’s Metro Car Wash, On the Go Sports Towels, Lavish, Dejandro’s Studio, Dreams and Drivers (organizers of the car show) and BHP. There were also other local businesses and individuals who donated their services and resources: YesSy Ramirez (Telemundi 33), Kitty O’Neal (KFBK), Trish Tatterson (Mary Kay), Kenny Thomas (Infinity H2O), Mikunis Sushi, Buckhorn Grill, Low Brau, Chitpole, Kru, Apex and Denim Spot.
The Car Fashion Gala was divided into three segments: a car show, a VIP reception and showing of an exclusive documentary trailer of Chairez’s life, and a fashion show.
The fashion show featured a well curated group of five designers (Maisha Bahatil, Tyniece Hall, Nik Tailored, Erica Abke, and Denim Spot) who showed a very promising future and success in the fashion industry.
Models who walked the runway also looked great doing so.
