The Ethical Fashion Initiative is excited to launch its second African Fashion Talent Competition.
The competition fits into the Initiative’s African Fashion Design mentoring programme that aims to promote sustainable businesses and fulfilling creative collaborations with artisans.
Talented fashion and accessory designers from the African continent can apply to participate in the Initiative’s African Fashion Designer mentoring programme. We are looking for creative and ambitious designers aspiring to build an international brand that values & commits to high quality artisanship.
Past designers that have participated in our mentoring programme include: AAKS, Ameyo, Anita Quansah London, Christie Brown, duaba serwa, Kiki Clothing, Lisa Folawiyo, Mina Evans, MO SAÏQUE, Sophie Zinga & Studio 189. Through the Ethical Fashion Initiative, these designers were able to participate in prestigious fashion events such as Altaroma, IED Moda, Vogue Talents, Vogue Fashion’s Night Out.
Sophie Nzinga stated about her experience: “I am grateful to have collaborated with EFI and to have the opportunity to present my S/S 15 collection at Vogue Talents in the presence of the fashion industry’s key protagonists. These are the types of collaborations and initiatives which will be fundamental in revolutionizing the vastly growing African fashion industry.”
