Greetings Ladybrillers.
Happy Women’s History Month! A month where we celebrate the contributions of women past and present. My month actually kicked off with attending and participating in the National Association of Women Business Owners California Regional ‘Propel Your Business Conference.’ I was blessed to be among some really dynamic and successful women business owners and to learn a lot.
When we began this year on Ladybrille, I told you all my goal was to make this platform the go to destination for the brilliant woman, particularly women of color. This month while we celebrate the many contributions of women, I think we should look no further than to celebrate some of our Ladybrille Women of the Month(s) alumni who have achieved and continue to achieve greater heights.
One such woman is Ladybrille Woman alumni Saran Kaba Jones whose work with FACE Africa, her non-profit focused on providing clean water to the citizens of Liberia continues to be impressive. Accordingly, this week, leading up to the FACE AFRICA Gala event on March 22nd, 2014, we will be celebrating all things FaceAfrica and Saran Kaba Jones.
Stay tuned throughout the week as we share what Saran and FaceAfrica have been up to and where you can purchase tickets for the GALA if you would like to attend.
In the meantime, enjoy the powerful speech by Leymah Gbowee on harnessing the power of women and girls.
Have a great week ahead.

Joint Nobel Peace Prize winner and Liberian activist Leymah Gbowee delivers a powerful talk about harnessing the power of African women to affect change. Moving between the personal and the universal, Gbowee demonstrates the impact of misogynist laws on females and broader society, and the potential in embedded in often-disenfranchised women and girls. Watch the talk that drew tears and two standing ovations from a packed Sydney Opera House. Video produced by Thea Dikeos.
