The Kinabuti Vlisco Lux Autumn/Winter 13/14 fashion show in collaboration with Pulse.ng was most definitely an epic evening that showcased international high class fashion and entertainment. Held by the poolside terrace of the Radisson Blu Anchorage hotel in Lagos, it hosted Nigeria’s most prominent elites, celebrities and socialites such as Eku Edewor, Kola Kareem, Sasha P., Betty Irabor, Mo Abudu, Yeni Kuti, Michelle Dede, Ladi Balogun, Leila Fowler, Caroline Danjuma, Ego Boyo among others.
The Kinabuti clothing could be seen on guests as well as the live performers such as Uti, MC and host for the night, Ikechukwu, singer and rapper who engaged the whole audience with groovy beats alongside up and coming young talent, Cypher.
Models walked the in-pool built runway with grace and elegance in three different shows presenting both the Kbuti and the Kinabuti Vlisco Lux Autumn/Winter 2013/14 collection, an extension of the capsule preview formerly showcased to the media and general public at the Lagos Fashion & Design Week October 23, 2013. In accordance with thename of the collection the presented pieces were indeed a true physical manifestation of light intertwined with representation of enlightenment.
With Vlisco African Prints as the main motif and constant protagonist the new Kinabuti collection featured intricate embroidery details, chains and studs against glossy elastic leather, striped shirting, reflecting nylon, golden lame and fur among other spectacular surprises in fabric choice to be presented during the show.Furthermore, accessories from G’s Click Heels were used to complement and complete all the women’s looks from the collection.
Guests enjoyed the opportunity to watch celebrity models such as the Priddy sisters, Louise and Oona, along with Ikechukwu and Italian models. The crowd was also taken by surprise with a flash mod dance performance of talented members of the Society for the Performing Arts in Nigeria (S.P.A.N.). All this was filmed and presented on the Pulse.ng website through an internationally accessible live video update.
The event took place thanks to the contribution of EgyptAir (member of Star Alliance) and consistent supporter of Kinabuti; Martell, leading cognac houses, G.M. Mumm, the world’s most consistent Non-Vintage Champagnes as well as Aquafina and H2Oh, all ensuring that guests were constantly treated to refreshing tastes of quality beverage and entertained throughout the evening.

Indeed this evening turned out to be breathtaking and the Kinabuti team remains grateful for all the given support!
To continue the celebration of the launch of the two new collections, Kinabuti will be further hosting an open Xmas Brunch on Saturday the 7th of December from 12 PM. This will take place at the Kinabuti Style Studio located at 2 Adeyemi Lawson off MacPherson off Burdillion, Ikoyi.
