Isoken Ogiemwonyi, winner of the 2012 MTN Lagos Fashion & Design Week Young Creative Director of the Year, has certainly evolved over the years with her brand Obsidian.
At the core of what the Obsidian label represents, as she has told us, is a respect for and empowerment of women though fashion. So, it is no surprise that for her Spring/Summer 2013 collection, we saw the diverse sides of the Obsidian woman. The Obsidian woman for spring is warm, fun, self assured, and approachable. She indeed exudes an aura of certainty and power, the no fuss kind.
Ogiemwonyi communicated the personality of the Obsidian woman through fitted print dresses with lace details, silk charmeuse blouses and dresses in yellows, and beautiful pailette brown blouses and skirts, among many options.
Our favorite design and a hit among the fashion forward, we think, has to be her brown pailette skirt paired with a white blouse.
