“Dem” say, “Naija no dey carry last.” Indeed. D’Banj, Singer and Mo’Hits Record Executive, clearly prepared for his special day on the red carpet at the 2011 BET Awards. The self proclaimed “African Michael Jackson” took a line from his hit single, “Mo gbono feli feli bi amala to ji na (I’m hot and you are not)” to bring the “Naija Swag” to America’s BET red/green carpet.
Showing a strong love for his country, the singer spotted a velvet green jacket paired with embroidered white pants and a white ruffled shirt with neat design details. Green and White represent the colors on Nigeria’s flag. D’Banj also put some thought into the accessories and shoes, settling for the ones that would steal the paparazzi’s attention and have them snapping away. D’Banj emerged co-winner with TuFace for the Award of Best International Act, Africa this past weekend. Check out photos of his ensemble and happy smiles at the recently concluded event.
