UNIHIV, a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of HIV/AIDS Awareness will present their inagural Hope 4 HIV on April 24th, 2010 at the Lotus Room and Tanzore located at 50 North La Cienega Boulevard, Beverly Hills, CA 90211. The event begins by 6:00pm and is hosted by Hollywood Osas Ighodaro (Cadillac Records, Women in Revolt).
Anticipated guests include Hollywood actors Razaaq Adoti {Amistad, Black Hawk Down] and Sammi Rotibi {Tears of the Sun, Lord of War}, Mayor Jim Dear (Mayor of Carson), and Elena Frias (Grassroots Marketing Director for Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles).
Mike Okri, multi-platinum international recording artist, will provide the main entertainment for the night while speakers Martin Salas, Director of HIV Education and Prevention (Guest Speaker for the event), Claret Onukogu (Miss Nigeria in America 2009), Angel Adelaja, (Vice President, UNIHIV and PhD candidate in Epidemiology -Michigan State University –May 2010), and Stanley Fongod (Executive Director of the Phillip A. Fongood Foundation) will provide insight about HIV/AIDS.
Adding to the excitement for the evening will be a scheduled fashion show with designs from designers Natalia Villafana and LaFunke honoring individuals living with HIV. A portion of the proceeds from the Hope 4 HIV gala will be donated to the Phillip A. Fongod Foundation, www.pfaids.org.
