British-Zimbabwean “Next Best Designer” Farai Simoyi will present her collection DESERT OASIS at New York Fashion Week on September 10th, 2011 at Helen Mills Theaters. Details about Simoyi’s collection and event below:
“Recently heralded as “Next Best Designer” by Essence.com & “Break Out Designer” by Time Out New York, British Zimbabwean Designer Farai Simoyi is at it again with the presentation of her Spring/Summer 2012 Collection. Aptly titled Desert Oasis, the collection embodies that very definition; a fruitful flourishing where resources are scarce, or at times, seemingly gone. In a desert like industry, Farai Simoyi is the force
that thrives in such harsh climates, and in turn, gracefully produces life through a natural Bohemian collection. Farai Simoyi creates the spirit of Woman, Warrior, Wayward Traveller, as well as heart, all the while representing femininity through her rich use of soft/steel aesthetics.
Simoyi is slated to present her Spring/Summer 2012 collection at New York Fashion on September 10th, 2011 at 7pm with a cocktail reception immediately following. The show will be held in the Helen Mills Theater, located in Chelsea at 137 West 26th Street.
Farai Simoyi is currently based in New York City. Her label is now available in stores and online.
