Ugandans prepare to put their country on the fashion map in the U with the first ever Ugandan UK Fashion Extravaganza. See details below:
“The event, which will exhibit collections of one of Uganda’s fashion designers based in the Diaspora, Jose Hendo, Maureen Amooti among others. The fashion show will also witness musical performances by Bebe Cool, Mesach Semakula, Kenzo, Bella, Priscilla and many others.
The event, which is expected to be a night of glamour, high fashion, entertainment and fun, is expected to attract a number of fashion designers, stakeholders in the fashion, film and music industries, as well as opinion leaders.
The organizers of the event believe that the Ugandan fashion industry is a multi-million dollar industry and a key to Uganda’s economic development.
According to them, the fashion industry in the country has great prospects as the upcoming designers, as well as those who are already in the business, are working tirelessly to help raise the stakes.
Maureen Amooti and Hendo have exhibited in various international shows and we believe they will be an inspiration to aspiring designers.
