METROPOLITAN FASHION WEEK, (MetroFW) the most fashionable week in Hollywood, partners with Warner Bros. Studios to kick off its fifth annual festivities with a fashion show featuring unique costumes and haute couture gowns and industry fashion awards, September 28 – October 5, 2017 at Warner Bros. Studios and various locations throughout Los Angeles. MetroFW will be hosted and produced by Eduardo Khawam, fashion expert, producer and TV personality for Telemundo and Univision.
Metropolitan Fashion Week Hollywood festivities begin with Opening Runway Show & Costume Contest at The Original Farmers Market Los Angeles on Thursday, September 28. Designers will showcase costume and fashion creations inspired by Academy Award®-winner costume designer Colleen Atwood (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016), Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016), Into the Woods (2014), Silence of the Lambs (1991). The top three winners will have the opportunity to participate in the Closing Gala Fashion Show.
Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala and Fashion Awards, will take place Thursday, October 5th at Warner Bros. Studios. Guests will enjoy a one-of-a-kind fashion show featuring haute couture gowns and costumes inspired by artwork from the J. Paul Getty Museum. The Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala attracts guests including industry professionals, celebrities, international designers and members of the fashion world. Metropolitan Fashion Week has raised over $13 million for charity, this year’s Project Imagination’s goal is to raise over 1,000,000 school supplies for underprivileged schools.
The Metropolitan Fashion “Excellence” Awards recognize outstanding contributions in costume design, celebrity styling and more. Winners will be announced at the Metropolitan Fashion Week Closing Gala. Categories include Costume Designer of the Year (Motion Pictures), Costume Designer of the Year (TV), Costume Designer of the Year (Live Performance), Fashion Program of the Year, Fashion Designer of the Year, Outstanding Ensemble for Make-Up Artist and Hair Stylist (TV or Motion Picture), Fashion Influencer of the Year, Fashion Icon of the Year, and the Metropolitan Fashion Excellence Award.
