Simply, ‘I Go Go’ is a passionate story of an unrequited love and the pain our hearts feel when love turns sour. Completely revolutionizing Nigeria’s prominent Afropop sound, Omawumi sings Nigerian Pidgin English (English mixed with a words from Nigerian languages) over a Reggae/Pop beat. Although opening with an almost neo-soul and jazz vibe, Omawumi never loses our attention- instead we enjoy the sweet skill of her vocals. As she currently awaits her first child and gears up for the release of her second album (following the highly successful Wonderwoman in 2009), it is clear to see that Omawunmi is set for new and broader beginnings.
