Oprah’s Africa’s Most Famous Actress Genevieve Nnaji, Rapper/Actor Pras from the Fugees, actress Daryl Hannah, actor Giancarlo Esposito, Nollywood A-list actress Stephanie Okereke, Rita Dominic and Kate Henshaw-Nuttall, Bollywood Stars Masumeh Makhija and Adnan Siddiiqui were some of the personalities present at the 6th Annual ION International Film Festival held in Port-Harcourt, Nigeria last month.
Also present at ION was engineer turned film director/producer Temi Ojo. Ojo walked away with the 2009 ION ‘Best Short Film’ Award for his work in ‘Renouncing Angelica.’ ‘Renouncing Angelica’ “explores the denial that usually follows heartbreak, and why one must first grieve, and choose to forgive, before one can actually succeed in overcoming a painful past.”
Said to attract an estimated 17,000 visitors to its event, ION Internaitonal film festival, a traveling festival, is dedicated to celebrating diversity and unity in the film industry. IONIFF 2009 was a four (4) day presentation and celebration that included music events, photo exhibitions and film workshops.
