It has been a particularly tough year for the fashion industry with bankruptcy filings, U.S-China trade tariffs, protests in Hong Kong (a key manufacturer of fashion goods), and of course technological innovations disrupting business as usual. In such a climate, staying relevant has never been so crucial. So, it had to be highlight of Milan Fashion Week, held September 21-27, 2019, when Versace re-debuted the iconic J-Lo dress from over a decade ago, and had J-Lo model it.
According to the designer,
“Jennifer Lopez’s #VersaceSS20 look is a reinterpretation of the Versace Spring-Summer 2000 green Jungle print runway dress. This season the sleeveless silk chiffon gown has been embellished with sparkling palm embroidery and paired with delicate leaf-embellished sandals.”
