Tracy Reese, Mercedes-benz New York Fashion Week, Spring/Summer 2010

tracy-reese02Tracy Reese’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection had a decidedly practical yet chic edge to it. It was clear Tracy Reese, the designer, truly wanted the average woman to know her brand was affordable and accessible, especially in this ongoing economically challenging times. The designer teamed up with mass market beauty and skincare manufacturers: Sally Hansen, Tresemme (Hair) and Maybelline (Make-up) to create easily replicated beauty and hair styles.

In addition, Tracy’s collection matched the simplicity of her beauty and hair looks with what she called “fierce optimism and edgy romance in a palette inspired by the work of Pierre Bonnard.” This translated into body conscious silhouettes, relaxed styles and colorful graphic print designs that were fresh, young, colorful, girly, funky and affordable. Crowd favorites included: the Goldenrod embroidered surplice dress, black shadow dots ¾ coat, black embellished silk “T” & ecru stretch pan, the passion fruit trench and black hot short and the watercolor floral sequin mini slip, among many.
