The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2018, held from January 23-26, is currently ongoing in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, under the theme, ‘Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World.’ Attracting over 2,500 leaders from business, government, international organizations, civil society, academia, media and the arts, the aim of the meeting has been to set an agenda that drives greater multistakeholder collaboration to address political, economic and societal challenges of our times.
One such leader who attended the event as an invited speaker is Jack Ma, founder and Executive Chairman of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba. In his Q&A discussion at the forum, Ma shared interesting insights on artificial intelligence (AI), big data, healthcare, trade, entrepreneurship, leadership, among other things, and also offered sound career advice for persons in their 20s through 60s.
20s to 30s, follow a good boss, join a good company to learn how to do things properly.
30s to 40s, if you want to do something yourself, just do it. You can still afford to fail.
40s to 50s, do things you are good at.
50s to 60s, spend time to train and develop young people, the next generation.
