Sacramento Fashion Week (SACFW) will present its Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter showcases at the historic Railyard in the City of Sacramento on Friday, February 24th and Saturday, February 25th, 2017.
The Railyards property is located north of Downtown and south of the River District. The site once served as the western terminus of the 1860s Transcontinental Railroad. The city now envisions the property as a future location of “mixed-use hub for entertainment, retail, housing, office, theaters, parks, hotels, and museums.”
“SACFW is excited and grateful for the opportunity to transform one of its buildings for two fashion showcases before its planned redevelopment,” said organizers in a press statement.
Event organizers will also kick off the official launch of SAFW and boutique showcase of unique local design retailers, to be held February 19-25, 2017, at a separate yet equally historic location, The Sacramento Masonic Temple. Built in 1920, The Masonic Temple is a registered historic building in the National Register of Historic Places.
SACFW has become the largest fashion production in Northern California. The mission of the production is to provide a platform for designers, models, and artist to showcase their work and to encourage the economic development of the region by promoting local business related to fashion, beauty, and the arts.
