Nigerian R&B Singer TolumiDE Serenades Guests at Visual Collaborative ‘VANITY’ Event!

TolumiDE, a Nigerian R&B, soul, afro-pop singer and music recording artist, serenaded guests at the 2015 Visual Collaborative ‘Vanity’ event held on December 11th, 2015, at LUSTINE Center, a refurbished car dealership in Hyattsville, Maryland.

Visual collaborative is a traveling pop-up exhibition that orchestrates charitable events which feature emerging and creative professionals, including visual artists.This year’s event attracted a hundred and fifty (150) guests of mostly art enthusiasts, policy influencers and other creative professionals for an evening of music, art, discussions and performances.

“A core operating model of Visual Collaborative is to build relationships with art communities transcending any barriers and business structures that prevent commercial entries for creative professionals in the global market place,” said Ade Olufeko, a designer, technologist, event curator and founder of Visual Collaborative. “Through joint ventures, the initiative strives to add unique value to the creative economy.”

The artistic works showcased for the evening were Stanley Agbontaen (a muralist and renowned painter), Danielle Eckhart (a painter and art instructor), and Mary “Mihert” Assefa (a technologist and photographer). Also showcased were vocalist new comers, and talks from Emanda Thomas, Ph.D and academic, and Ola Abiola, an HR professional and daughter of the late Chief MKO Abiola.

TolumiDe’s set performances was one of the major highlights of the evening. Guests also enjoyed music from the resident Disc Jockey, DJ Rich, music producer and songwriter artist Mikahel Aharon and set engineer who accompanied TolumiDE, Kevin.

Visual Collaborative ‘Vanity’ was sponsored by Eco-Vapez, The Avenue Projects & Jemery Mines Film & Photography; and was a a collaboration made possible with the Arts District Hyattsville Master Association in Prince George’s County. The organizer of the event, Olufeko, hints at future popups in the United Kingdom and Lagos, Nigeria.
