Ladybrille designers, and industry in general, you all know or should be familiar with the saying, “never quit.” However, just in case you are unfamiliar with this famous saying, Y!Naija’s Chude Jideonwo, a name that should be familiar to many of you Ladybrille readers, reminds you in the video clip below to never quit.
Indeed, it is interesting to watch Africa’s fashion, media and entertainment industries come full circle with some of the current industry heads. I recall in 2007 when Jideonwo’s The Future Awards solicited and Ladybrille agreed to sign on to sponsor “The Future Awards Nigeria,” an award event celebrating excellence among young Nigerians.
To hear him say him and his business partners at the time started that business, under the umbrella of its parent company Redstrat Media, with zero naira and today they are a multi-million dollar business is remarkable.
Ladybrillers, for many of you, it has been amazing to share your stories and to watch your fashion and media startups go from zero to major successes like Jideonwo’s. Keep up the great work and most importantly, I hope you use this platform not only as a resource for your businesses, but to also do business with each other, because that is how you support your fellow fashion brands and help sustain Africa’s fashion eco-system.
