It’s official. We heard the rumors, Ladybrille followed up with the folks at Def Jam and we knew there was something cooking up but there was no certainty yet on what would materialize on all the talks about Kanye and the Mo’Hits Records. Today, Nigerians and Africans alike, can be proud as we received confirming news in our inbox that Kanye’s G.O.O.D music label has inked a deal with MO-HITS Records. Congratulations to both labels. We look forward to the relationship and the new sounds from D’Banj.
According to Wikipedia, Kanye’s G.O.O.D “is an acronym for “Getting Out Our Dreams”. John Legend and Common were the first to sign to the management and production company; their albums, Get Lifted and Be, respectively, (both executive-produced by West) were both critically acclaimed and combined were nominated for 7 Grammy Award nominations. Get Lifted had three nominations and Be had four.”
D’Banj has just been nominated for the 2011 BET Awards and will be live and direct in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium on June 26th, 2011.
