Munachi, Stephanie Okereke, Asa & MI Top Best Dressed List for the Future Awards 2010

Munachi (2007 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria turned rapper), MI (Award winning rapper) and Stephanie Okereke (Award winning & Nollywood A-list actress) were definitely Naija celebs that topped LadybrilleNigeria’s Best Dressed List on the Red Carpet at the just completed The Future Awards 2010.

Okekereke looked quite elegant, probably the most elegant we have seen her, as she glided onto the red carpet with a one shouldered peach colored gown that was nothing short of Hollywood 50s glam.  Banded waist and embelished light brown roses on the bodice of the gown gave it the extra “umph” to make a statement without saying a word. Okereke completed her look with a  complimentary gold clutch, well styled neck length loose curls and natural yet glam makeup. Brilliant!

Munachi kept it racy with a two toned strapless empire waist multi-colored (red, yellow and green) gown. Both accessories and makeup were simple with emphasis palced on her Rihanna inspired hairstyle. If we doubted Munachi was inspired by Rihanna, we got our answer with a subsequent dress change. Munachi rocked the stage with big shouldered (think star-trek/futuristic) metallic gold red banded waist mini-dress, so “Rihannesque” and brilliant!

MI did not dissapoint with his style “swag.” He oozed confidence on the red carpet with a well tailored gray suit and white shirt.  A white & green shawl added accentuation and “pop” to his suit, especially in the lapel/collar area.

Our only issue? The super dark sun glasses! We hope to see the dark sun glasses trend on red carpets across the world die, like very soon! It is so overplayed. If it is never going to die, then we would have substituted the super dark sunglasses for dark brown ones- Tom Ford Camillo sun glasses to get the idea.

A nice surprise was musician Asa. Yes, your style is as important as your music. .  . It appears Asa is accepting this fact. The artist swept her dreaded locks up to reveal a beautiful neckline and face. She also upgraded her look to a chic, conservatively sexy artist with a white shirt and black edgy pants. Asa complimented her outfit with a large white clutch and red pumps. Go Asa!
